About the Designer
Jorge Elizondo is the co-founder and creative force behind Zonddi. Originally from Mexico, he developed an early appreciation for art, composition, and the emotional impact of objects and spaces. After moving to Chicago, he studied Interior Design at The Illinois Institute of Art and later became Lead Showroom Designer at Darlene Interiors in Naperville, Illinois. For more than two decades, Jorge has worked at the intersection of furniture, interiors, and materiality, developing a design approach rooted in observation, functionality, and visual balance. His work focuses on creating pieces that are both purposeful and expressive, designed to support everyday living while contributing to the character of a space. In 2000, Jorge founded Jorge Elizondo Designs, laying the foundation for what would later evolve into Zonddi. Today, his design philosophy continues to guide the collection, emphasizing thoughtful proportions, carefully considered materials, and furniture that brings together comfort, utility, and lasting visual presence.
